were not done celebrating our 10th anniversary at the still music headquarters and weve decided to continue diggin for some treats from our vaults. after weve released the critically acclaimed kill yourself dancing! the story of sunset records inc. 1985-89, a lot of our friends were asking us for some specific 12inches to be repressed. we felt obliged to comply and here we go with three of the most significant 12inches from sunset records inc.

lcseries comes back with the fourth reference, dark and bright, ascent. the a-side is covered at night. the darker side, the most ravenous, the more forceful, the wildest. starring oscar mulero remix of the original track ascent. oscars personal style makes to be all part of the sound composed through the original topic. in turn, liss c. remind us, that their tracks are by and for the club.

it is with great joy that we present the first kreattones release. for this first release we picked the talented robot love and his super sentimental track *geometry*. this track is a true masterpiece and reveals great attention to detail and construction, never forgetting the feeling and message. we count also with two outstanding remixes in our premiere. one by the unique john tejada, bringing back memories and transporting the listener into a whole new world, due to the gorgeous and complex melody that he created. and another by ben hoo, exploring the elements and turning the original track into a deep and hypnotic journey, full of content and emotion.

tom dazing breaks the self-imposed silent period with back in the daze ep, a dubby crafted techno meets acid track that builds from idea to idea without losing the thread in its own story book.early support from angel molina, alexi delano, ben long, dj pierre and marco bailey.

the cellar boyz *pay me* is taken from ben cenacs timeless cozmic house ep on thug records. pay me which was recorded in 1986 is the only track from the cozmic house e.p that had available parts. the stems for deeper & deeper, seems to me & who loves you were never recorded. this was due to the fact that all of bens projects through out the 90s were tracked midi only at mix down, with only the vocals being recorded to tape! thug would never have had the opportunity to release ben cenacs cozmic house 12 inch if it had not been for simoncino. simoncino did all the a&r for the record. a gift not only for thug but any fans of ben cenacs amazing productions. with that in mind, simoncino has provided 2 remixed versions of pay me, alongside a remix from close friend nicholas!

3rd release on is records from fake left. first two making waves with the likes of sven vath, linkwood, ben sims and andrew weatherall. startin off on the a side with straight up electro goodness of mtf and continuing on to the b-side, acid hooks and stripped back grooves of the clockmakers kinetic dreams. track 3 transference finishes off the ep nicely more jackin grooves, haunting pads and frequencies.

we who like to think of ourselves as disruptors felt that the time has come for a shift. a new path for chronicle emerges, carved out with a new series of 7 inch records limited to only 250 copies. our inaugural release, entitled words for silence, will be unleashed at our debut chronicle showcase on march 29th at berghain. as our way of giving thanks to our supporters the first 10 copies will be passed out in secrecy to attendants looming in the shaded corners of the club. words for silence features two driving tracks from aiken and the illusive ben gibson – two producers that have both crafted powerful eps for us and will be gracing the decks that evening along with nick dunton (65 d mavericks), boris, oliver deutschmann and mike dehnert among others. we could not be more honored to host this night, and look forward to unveiling more releases of this caliber for other special events/turning points. so watch out below… aikens *singularity* has a groove that beeps like a time bomb waiting to explode, washing over you with its sinful drones - while gibsons track *parallax* takes things a bit deeper with pastoral pads and fluttering hi-hats. together they create a balance of rhythm and energy that will be well suited for a number of unique moments while in the chamber.

following his well received fabric mix comp in december 2013, ben sims returns to his own theory imprint with yet another ring release in the form of *reflection*, which features two original new tracks, a remix from rod and a vinyl exclusive. the eponymous opener is a strident, 909 + 707 driven affair that fuses overlapping, stereoscopic tones to a gently distorted and brutalist groove that sits somewhere between dance mania and detroit. *break glass* is the second original on offer and has been a heavily requested track for the past few months. the perfect partner to *reflection*, *break glass* is similarly overdriven but heavy on the sort of mechanical funk that sims does so well. rods version of *reflection* is a linear assault which ebbs and ows with purpose throughout a linear and intense arrangement while sims remix of *break glass* zeros in on bone rattling percussive aesthetics and vox samples, in much demand after featuring on his fabric mix cd.

its been a big year for breach, a.k.a. ben westbeech. his track jack hasnt just blown up on danceoors across the globe: its laid waste to them. in the process, jack got to number 9 in the uk charts. not bad considering westbeech has always seen breach as an underground thing.

a special record originated from a special day. mr. gs spree to detroits movement festival ended at the notorious need i say more? matinee. held yearly in the backyard of the reputable veterans club the old miami and helmed by a promoters crew named visionquest it cultivates debauchery and fine music. back home, mr. g produced these two tracks with two djs in mind. unsurprisingly, they stroke the mind of djs. heavy bass, mean percussion, double bass, walkie talkie voices! what do you need more?

gogo music proudly comes up with the second release of sir lsg, after we presented you *sax in the city*, which still was released under his former moniker hood natives and became a smash-hit in 2011. this time sir lsg teamed up with renown soul-singer brian temba and kafele who adds his distinctive trumpet lines. remixes are contributed by dj spinna and ben moss to complete a splendiferous release.
this gogo music release has been in the works for quite some time, but it surely was worth the wait and efforts, as we now are able to present a well rounded package of a well written song - exactly our aim at gogo music.

edec presents its 10th release - the heat - with three dance floor burning cuts from jon hester. lights down: tough tom-driven rhythms and a resounding vocal hook set off a soaring synth crescendo. heater: big rig classic techno vibe with a huge synth line, ricochet drums, and a break that brings the heat. tension wire: enveloping kicks, booming percussion, and sparking claps are met with a surge of energy for electric rooms.

our third drop is a huge one. tomas malo (outernational, 20:20 vision) delivers two deep and gorgeous cuts of house music in its truest form, with nods to early blues and gospel fused with stunning chord work. remix duties are taken care by two of the industrys best: the inimitable manuel tur (freerange) and red-hot ben la desh (sleazy beats black ops, outernational, dirt crew).

it is no secret that ben watt has chosen to close his acclaimed label buzzin fly to new music after ten great years as one of the uks leading dance independents. but the label has chosen to go out with a bang with one final single. unearthed from the vaults are two dazzling tracks from cornerstone artists, rodamaal, and manoo and francios a. rodamaals fortune was originally completed back in 2007 but scheduling problems prevented it from being released at the time. produced by the franco-portuguese trio (rocco, darkmountaingroups alex santos and manoo) it is a stark but emotionally-charged deep-techno masterpiece, that deserves its place alongside their other classics for the label, musica feliz and insomnia. on the flip, and originally produced in 2005, is other places a long-lost track by manoo and francois a. full of summer shimmer and heavy bass tones, it was produced by the duo during their heyday at the label, and was a secret favourite of label boss, ben watt. two perfect swansongs. buzz buzz.

more than six years into his career after several eps and a full album, there isn’t much known about ben gibson, and he is clearly keeping it that way with intent. gibson first emerged on jeff mills’ experimental, influential 6277 sublabel but then again vanished into the ether, he only reappeared three years later on perc trax, even more surprisingly with a full-length. since then, he’s gone on to steadily more notice with perc’s imprint, sect records, and most recently m_rec ltd in spite of the continuing lack of information. exposure isn’t the most important thing for us at chronicle though, and after hearing these five tracks, we saw exactly what it is that drew mills to him from the beginning. it is a sound that we find a perfect fit for the techno futurism of our chronicle series, and here we offer a platform for gibsons more sci-fi, ethereal sounding material, exclusively on vinyl for the fifth edition of our sublabel.
